Welcome your self to "Majnun’s Lost Memoirs," the follow up to Baraka Blue’s debut album "Sound Heart." On his sophomore effort, Baraka Blue reunites with DJ Anas Canon & Fred Nilsson to craft the multi-dimensional soundscape where Majnun lyrically dies in his madness. Majnun’s Lost Memoirs is the diary of a madman torn from his beloved homeland and forced into exile in an industrialized, mechanical, dystopian, Babylon concrete profanatory.
sound 1. A vibration that can be heard or perceived through the sense of hearing: I heard the sound echo through the room. 2. In good condition; without flaw or disease; pure: He is a man of sound intellect. Given these two definitions of sound, the album title, Sound Heart, has a dual meaning. On the first level, this album encases the Sounds of Hearts. The second meaning is of course related to the deeper objective of attaining a heart pure and free of disease and flaw. The goal of the spiritual path is to achieve a sound heart.
The reed flute represents the human being— cut from the primordial spiritual realm, from communion with our Source in the river of pure peace, light, and gnosis. After a time before time in the divine presence, witnessing and communing with the Ultimate Reality, we were brought out from the riverbed and placed in the here-below. We have come to this realm, according to the Sufis, to witness, remember and awaken to our original state. At the core of our beings we all yearn for this return. For we are the Reedbed Diaspora.
